  • Composite Repair Certification or three (3) or more years of experience performing composite repairs.
  • Experience utilizing patterns, templates, and layouts.

  • Experience grinding with a 4” or 6” angle grinder, and or finishing sanding.

Mistras Group, Inc. is hiring full-time Rope Access Level I and II Technicians in Corpus Christi, TX for a multi-year project.

In addition to either SPRAT or IRATA Rope Access certifications, NDE certs inclusive of UT Thickness, Radiation Safety and RT I or II is desired.

This project starts in January 2020 and is full-time. The schedule will be 4-10’s, however overtime could occur at times.

MISTRAS Group is seeking two Rope Access Insulators and a Rope Access Painter in Catlettsburg, KY. These roles have a 9/9/19 tentative start date and continue to the end of the year. The hours are 5-8's and per diem is available if qualified.

POSITION SUMMARY: Apply, remove and repair insulation and coatings on industrial equipment, piping, duct-work or other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers, tanks and vessels to control noise and maintain temperature. Minor surface preparation and repairs may be required when working in conjunction with an inspection team. Development for future inspection responsibilities may be available as career development

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

  • Remove and dispose of old insulation
  • Understand and interpret P&IDs
  • Review blueprints and specifications to determine the amount and type of insulation needed
  • Measure and cut insulation to fit into walls and around piping
  • Secure insulation with staples, tape, screws or bands
  • Use air compressors to spray foam insulation
  • Install metal and plastic barriers to protect insulation from moisture
  • Asbestos abatement preferred or willingness to obtain certification
  • Clean up and abate ACM(asbestos containing material)
  • Surface preparation for inspection
  • Apply coating per specification prior to installing insulation
  • Cover, seal or finish insulated surfaces
  • Fit, wrap or attach insulating materials to pipes, vessels, tanks and other oil infrastructure
  • Various removal and replacement of insulation for inspection
  • Corrosion under insulation

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 years experience
  • Knowledge of blasting and coating methods
  • SPRAT/IRATA training or willingness to be SPRAT/IRATA trained to perform work from suspended rigging
  • Competency certification required for Insulation and/or Painting required

  • DISA DCCHA/DCCHT Hair Follicle, DISA Background Check (Marathon Specific), Marathon Fit for Duty assessment, TWIC Card required and must know pin #.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Maintains certification as Level II or III IRATA Rope Access Technician.

3. At least six months of industrial rope access field experience.

Essential Physical Functions:
1. If assigned by the Company, must undergo and successfully pass medical clearance examination(s), physical agility test(s), and/or functional capacity test(s) administered by Company-approved clinicians.
2. Capable of carrying out strenuous, repetitive, or tedious work often in adverse conditions (heat, cold, wind, extreme height, darkness, etc.) and often for extended periods of time.
3. Frequent carrying, pushing, and pulling motions while completing work tasks or managing tools/equipment is to be expected. Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs and occasional lifting up to 60 lbs without assistance.
4. Work tasks can be particularly stressful to fingers, hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck and spine. Repetitive hand and finger manipulation tasks, most often while wearing protective gloves.
5. Repetitive use of hips, knees, ankles, and feet while operating rope systems, using industrial ladders, or moving around work sites. Must possess adequate near and distance vision, hearing, and speaking ability.

Overview
The Mistras Ropeworks Team is looking for a motivated and qualified Rope Access Supervisor (SPRAT or IRATA Level III) who is experienced in a petrochemical environment to join our team in or near San Francisco Bay Area.
Successful candidates will be expected to maintain residence within a reasonable commute distance of worksite(s). Work will consist of a full-time, year-round projects in petrochemical refineries. Some assignments will be administrative in nature (meetings, paperwork, creating reports, committee work, etc.), while most will require work alongside a field team performing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) including Radiography. The team member is expected to meet or exceed the requirements of a Level III Rope Access Technician, maintain a professional appearance, demonstrate effective leadership and communication skills in a complex industrial environment. With demonstrated success, team members will have access to advanced training and promotion. Overall, the candidate is expected to serve as a positive and constructive role model and help each team member to excel with each job assignment.

Primary Responsibilities
• Current certification as a Level III SPRAT or IRATA Rope Access Supervisor.
