ex·pe·di·tion = a journey undertaken for a specific purpose

Every rope access project is an expedition where we rely on each other for safety and successful completion of a goal. In 2013, over 150 MISTRAS Ropeworks team members from field technician to management contributed to create this list.

Expedition Behaviors are observable qualities each of us can work toward every day to help achieve personal and team success. Please model these behaviors, mentor new team members, and be open to feedback from others. Our goal is excellence - not perfection.

Note: We credit the term “Expedition Behavior” (EB) and #2 to Paul Petzold, the founder of the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). Petzold’s set of principles, first created in 1965, serve to help teams manage mountaineering expeditions safely.
